Wedding Cake, Pirates and 52

Our anniversary was this weekend and although we weren't planning to do a lot of stuff it ended up turning out that way.  The Richmond Braves were in town for the weekend to play the Tides so David and I decided to go out to the ballpark and catch the game.  We bought a program and ended up winning one of the lucky number prizes ( a bunch of restuarant gift certificates), which was funny because we won with the number on page 52 right after I said "I don't know why I keep looking these up, its not like we're going to win."    52 is one of those numbers that just keeps showing up everywhere for us.

I thawed out the top layer of the wedding cake and must say I was scard to eat it as I've always heard that they taste nasty after being thawed. Suprisingly it was really good.  You couldn't even tell that it had been frozen.   My freezing method apparently worked really well  (I wonder if it being a pound cake had anything to do with it?).   So I was glad that the cake was good, and we still have some leftover to eat on for the next day or two.

The 3rd Pirates of the Caribbean movie also came out this weekend, so of course I had to go see it.  It was really good.   I liked it better than the 2nd and almost as much as the first.    David thought the 3rd one was the best.  This one has a lot of action and is more....piratey, I guess.  I wasn't sure at first if I liked the ending (it wasn't what I was expecting), but later decided that I did.  If you go see it make sure you stay till after the credits since this movie has the little clip at the end like the other two did.

What will I do without my Tuesday night fix?

After the season finale Gilmore Girls will be kaput.  I can't say I didn't see it, coming, but I was holding out hope for at least half of an 8th season.  There is just to much to cram into two episodes to make a satisfying ending.

10 Year Reunion

I was browsing the KHS alumni website and found a posting for our 10 year reunion (that makes me feel old..lol).  I'm not sure yet if I'm going to go.  Its $75 a person which I guess isn't too bad, but its still a lot of money especially not knowing if there will be anyone there I care to talk to.    I've got a few months to decide if I want to go or not.

"With those who don't give a damn about baseball, I can only sympathize.  I do not resent them.  I am even willing to concede that many of them are physically clean, good to their mothers and in favor of world peace.  But while the game is on, I can't think of anything to say to them."  ~Art Hill

Yes, I am a baseball junkie.  I love opening day, the freshly cut grass, clean white uniforms.  Everything is possible and no goal is out of reach.

Its even better when the Braves win (great way to start the season).

I made pot roast for dinner today.  I'm not even a big fan of pot roast, and I've never made it before, but I just decided to try it out.
I feel very domestic.....
